Welcome to this year’s CovCreative Film Festival. This year, with the help of Warwick University and UNESCO, we’re going even bigger than ever before, with a series of new categories open to students from ALL Coventry schools.

This year’s CovCreative Film Festival is partnered with Warwick Uni and UNESCO.

New Categories:

  • Best Documentary – Primary
  • Best Documentary – Secondary 
  • Best Documentary – Undergraduate 
  • Best ex-student Fictional Short – Max 10 mins, anything over 5 may not be played in full
  • Technical awards
    • Best Director
    • Best Performance
    • Best Screenplay
    • Best Production Design
    • Best Cinematography
    • Best Editing / SFX
    • Best Sound Design

Rules:

All films:

  • No copyrighted material may be used (royalty free and Creative Commons licensed are fine as long as they are credited)
  • Fiction Films for Best Ex-Student and ALL Documentaries may be completed in groups of five maximum

Documentary films:

  • Must be submitted by 31st May
  • May be on any subject related to the theme of the environment or  sustainablity
  • Must be shot on a mobile device

  • Best Documentary – Primary category is open to students of any age in Primary schools, including non-mainstream schools
  • Best Documentary – Primary category films should be between 2-5 mins maximum
  • Best Documentary – Secondary category is open to students of any age in Secondary schools, including non-mainstream schools
  • Best Documentary – Secondary category films should be between 3-5 mins maximum
  • Best Documentary – Undergraduate category is open to students of any age studying at university
  • Best Documentary – Undergraduate category films should be between 3-10 mins maximum

Technical awards:

  • Technical awards cannot be entered directly: The short-list will be selected from entries across all other categories

Prizes:

Primary and Secondary winners will be selected for a filmmaking day at Screenology in Bristol as well as a tour of Bristol UNESCO City of Film
