Course entry requirements
Specification: Edexcel
Subject entry requirements: To take the course you will need 5 GCSE grades 5-9, including a grade 6 or higher in GCSE English and GCSE Drama.
Course content:
- Component 1 (40%): Devise a powerful, gritty play with your group, about a topic you are passionate about, and perform it to a live audience. You will then write a portfolio about how you created your performance and how successful it was.
- Component 2 (20%): Group performance of a scripted play, and a monologue or duologue.
- Component 3 (40%): A written exam where you will evaluate a piece of engaging Live Theatre following a theatre trip and then explain how you would bring two exciting scripts to life, from page to stage.

You will collaborate with others to devise performances that scrutinise the world we live in. You will develop A-Level English equivalent written skills through academic, analytical writing. You’ll become an expert of oral communication as you present independent research to your peers and your creativity will grow until it becomes your greatest attribute in university interviews and the world of employment.
